Anne O’Sullivan Obituary, Death Cause – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne O’Sullivan, a beloved member of the Carlow Town community. Anne departed this world on January 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Oak Ward, South East Palliative Care Centre, University Hospital Waterford. A woman of great love, strength, and service, Anne will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Kathleen, as well as her brothers Paddy and Christy, Anne leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
She is survived by her dearly loved daughter Tracey, grandchildren Ella and Harry, adoring partner Aideen, and her loving siblings Thomas, Kathryn, Tony, Libby, and Helen. Also mourning her loss are son-in-law Chris, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. Anne’s journey was marked by the love she shared with her family and the positive impact she had on those around her. As we bid farewell, may she gently rest in peace, reunited with those who preceded her in death.
Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects during the repose at 124 JKL Avenue on Sunday, beginning at 4 pm and concluding with prayers at 8 pm. The removal will take place on Monday morning at 10:30 am to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Following the Mass, Anne will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In honoring Anne’s memory, the family kindly requests family flowers only, and in lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the South East Palliative Care Centre.
Anne’s dedication to service is reflected in her support for ONE (Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel), and any members available to attend the funeral are invited to do so in uniform. Anne’s commitment to ONE underscores her deep respect for those who served, and her involvement in the organization was a testament to her unwavering support for veterans. Those who had the privilege of knowing Anne recall her as a great supporter of ONE, and her memory will continue to inspire others.
