David Alton Obituary, Death  – Zachary, also known as “Zak,” On January 22, 2024, David Alton went away at his Shell Lake, Wisconsin, home. His age was 48. On April 28, 1975, Zak was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Charles and Jill Alton. In 1993, he obtained his high school diploma from Rice Lake High School. In 1995, he graduated first in his class from WITC with a degree in mechanics. Most of his working life was devoted to utility construction.

Zak loved the great outdoors; he would spend his days fishing, hunting, and trapping throughout northwest Wisconsin and beyond. He belonged to a number of associations and clubs, such as the Wisconsin Trappers Association, the National Rifle Association, and the National Trappers Association. Zak would compete in local fishing tournaments, frequently winning, with his nephew and frequent outdoor partner Austin Peterson. The woods were his favorite place.

Zak was a kind man who was eager to listen to others and give them everything they needed. He enjoyed learning about a wide range of things and would gladly engage in lighthearted conversation with anyone about them. Zak held himself to a high standard and had a strong moral compass. He valued perfection and looking out for himself.
