Kawsheen Gelzer Obituary, Brooklyn NY, Missing Person Found Dismembered

Kawsheen Gelzer Obituary, Death Cause – After finding the beheaded, dismembered body of a registered sex offender in her taped-up refrigerator, Brooklyn police charged a 44-year-old woman Friday. Police charged Heather Stines with concealing a corpse on Thursday, four days after a tip led them to her Nostrand Ave. flat near Farragut Road in East Flatbush. Court documents identify the remains as Kawsheen Gelzer, a 40-year-old registered sex offender who was arrested for sexually abusing a 12-year-old kid in 2004. Police sources say Gelzer, a narcotics dealer, disappeared after visiting Stines and her husband, Nicholas McGee.

He may have perished in a narcotics argument with the couple. Police said they found the body parts of a 6-foot, 200-pound man wrapped in black plastic bags in Stines’ refrigerator and freezer Monday night. The refrigerator contained Gelzer’s decapitated head, according to court filings. At a Tuesday news briefing, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said, “The refrigerator was taped up.” “I guess they were trying to hide the smell.” Stines was alone in the flat when police arrived. Police said McGee is in another state for an unrelated offence. According to court documents, she admitted living in the flat but did not discuss the body in her fridge.

Stines was arraigned briefly in Brooklyn Criminal Court Thursday and ordered jailed on $50,000 cash bail. Court documents show she was granted bail for three bench warrants for shoplifting arrests she never appeared for. The 2022 shoplifting arrests involved stealing COVID-19 tests and drinks from the same Flatbush drugstore and a Target “manscape electronic” device months apart. Gelzer lived in Prospect Heights, 3 miles from his remains. The disappearance was not immediately reported. His cause of death is unknown to the city’s Medical Examiner. The body, which may have been in the fridge for a year, required to defrost before an autopsy, police sources said.

Brooklyn prosecutors say Gelzer was identified by fingerprints. Police say he was caught in 2011 after serving four years in jail for first-degree sex abuse in 2007. He remained on the state’s sex offender list after his parole expired a year later. As police searched her home, a neighbour heard Stines swear she was going to jail. “She was saying, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to jail,’” neighbour Germaine Roberts told the Daily News Wednesday. They wouldn’t let her in the flat.’ Roberts, 53, watched detectives photograph the scene. “From my kitchen, I can see into her kitchen and they were taking photos with the forensic light,” she said. “I saw them putting the markers.

” A police source said Stines struggled with drug abuse for years. The insider stated the flat was dirty when police arrived. Stines’ brother-in-law According to Timothy McGee, she did not dismember herself. She lacks the will to do this. It takes dedication, the brother-in-law stated. Police said Stines is from Kentucky. Timothy McGee said she and her husband relocated to New York City in 2014 and spent years in shelters before locating their Brooklyn apartment. The grisly finding alarmed the couple’s neighbours. “It’s crazy, you watch ‘Dateline’ and then this happens in this building,” Monica, 50, a neighbour, told The News Wednesday.
