Bretman Rock is a social media star and beauty influencer of Filipino-American descent who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii. 

Following the viral success of one of his contouring videos in 2015, he became well-known as a creator on Vine and YouTube. 

Rock is famous for his hilarious outlook on life and for creating cosmetics tutorials. 

He has been in multiple music videos, starred in his reality TV show, MTV’s Following: Bretman Rock (2021).

His breakthrough moment occurred in 2016 when his contouring video went viral. 

Influenced by makeup artist Patrick Star and blogger Talia Joy, Rock’s talents were recognized when ABS-CBN’s Adober Studios, the Philippines’ largest media conglomerate’s social media creator network, hired him as a manager in the same year.

Rock frequently collaborated with Princess Mae, Cleo, and Keiffer (“Miss K”) in video creation.

Additional appearances included his friend Larry and former editor Agatha Danglapin. 

Notable figures such as James Charles, Bella Poarch, Nikita Dragun, and Chelsea Handler are often featured on his channel.

Rock garnered recognition, being named one of the 30 Most Influential Teens by Time in 2017 and earning a spot in Forbes’ 2018 “30 Under 30 Asia – Media, Marketing, & Advertising” list.

Diversifying his pursuits, Rock entered the cosmetics realm, launching Wet n Wild in early 2020, garnering attention from major Los Angeles media outlets.

He made a guest appearance on James Charles’ “Instant Influencer” YouTube series in May 2020.

Expanding his brand, Rock introduced his own line of sunglasses in November 2020, featuring six frames at Dime Optics and two exclusively at Revolve.

In May 2021, Rock collaborated with other online personalities, appearing in Bella Poarch’s “Build a Bitch” music video.

The subsequent June brought a nomination for Breakthrough Social Star at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, acknowledging his success.

In August 2021, Rock delved further into music, appearing in Sub Urban and Bella Poarch’s “INFERNO” video for promotional purposes.

Then, in October 2021, he made history by being the cover star of Playboy’s inaugural homosexual edition.

Born on July 31, 1998, in Sanchez-Mira, Cagayan, Philippines, Bretman Rock Sacayanan Laforga hails from an Ilocano family. 

His parents are Mercedita (mother) and Edmund Laforga (father). 

While details about his mother are scarce, his father, an enthusiast of professional wrestling, chose the name Bretman after wrestling legends Bret Hart and The Rock. 

Sadly, in November 2019, Edmund passed away after falling into a coma.

Influenced by his father’s love for wrestling, Bretman Rock got his name from legends Bret Hart and The Rock.

At seven, he moved to Hawaii, participating in sports like baseball, soccer, cross-country, and volleyball.

Throughout his time at Campbell High School, Rock actively participated in the track team.
