A Malibu man, Fraser Michael Bohm, pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
Following a high-speed crash on Pacific Coast Highway( PCH) that claimed the lives of four Pepperdine University scholars.
The crash passed on the night of October 17 when Bohm was driving at an intimidating speed of 104 mph in a 45 mph zone on PCH.
The students, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, lost their lives at the scene.
Initially, Bohm was arrested at the accident site, but he was released from custody as authorities investigated the circumstances.
Later, he was re-arrested and booked on suspicion of murder. The tragedy left a void that can never be filled.
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón emphasised the profound loss.
Saying, “We lost four young people with a complete life ahead of them, for really no reason other than complete and reckless disregard for the life of others.”
Bohm was initially held on $8 million bail, had it reduced to $ 4 million. However, he faces the possibility of multiple life rulings If condemned.
The DA’s office expressed deep sympathy for the victims’ families and the Pepperdine University community.
