Shay’s commitment to the sport earned him a reputation as one of Ballyteague’s best full backs. Shay Walsh’s impact went beyond the playing field. For the past eight years, Shay served as the chairman of Ballyteague’s underage section, a role he embraced wholeheartedly. Together with his late wife Lisa, they revitalized the club’s underage structures, demonstrating a remarkable partnership that extended beyond the football pitch. Lisa’s passing in 2021 was a profound loss, and both Shay and Lisa will be forever remembered in the annals of Ballyteague.
